How To Become Your Boss’ Favourite

How To Become Your Boss’ Favourite

Bosses are humans too. As an employee, you can win your boss’ heart and one way to
ensure that is by helping your boss succeed.

Now there’s difference between helping your boss succeed and just trying to buy favour from him.
Your boss can easily tell the difference between the two.

A sincere effort towards helping your boss succeed, will make you an exceptional employee and your
boss’ favourite

Here are five things you can do to become your boss’ favourite:

Know Your Boss:
Each and every one of us have preferences including your boss.
To make things easier for your boss, you have to first know his preferences. You need to figure out what he needs you to do and how he wants it done.

If you cannot figure it out, better ask him/her. There is nothing wrong with that. Also try to get feedback
about your performance from your boss.

Be Good In What You Do
To help your boss succeed you must be able to do your jobwell first.
There are employees who “wait to be grown,” and there are others who understand that they are the master of their own career fate, and that they need to figure out where they want to go and how to get there. Most bosses love this second kind of employees, and are happy to support them.

Learn what is required of you and be excellent at it.
Don’t Just Point To A Problem, Provide Solution: Before pointing out a problem to your boss, think of a possible solution.
Bosses appreciates having problem solvers around them. The truth is that they already have load of problems to as bosses. As a matter of fact you were hired to help solve problems. So when you are good at pointing out problems without giving solutions.

It makes you look more like a complainer. And that’s not a good reputation. When you give solutions, it makes you stand out.
Others may even start seeking your advice concerning issues. That’s a plus for you.

Tell Your Boss What He Needs To Know:
Bosses appreciates constructive feedback. It is such feedback that helps them make good decisions. They need you to give them plain facts. However, you need to be careful how you go about this especially if it concerns your boss.

Bosses are humans. They are not perfect either; they may be doing something wrong.
Nevertheless, you do not have to tell your boss point blank that he or she is doing something wrong.
If you think you have a better idea, your approach should be suggestive and not otherwise.
That is, suggest your idea to your boss.

Stand In For your Boss When Need Be:
When need be stand in for your leader by doing what need to be done. Defend his interest as well as that of the organization in such times. That’s what loyalty demands.
Such act will tell your boss that you are not really in the organization just because of what can get but also because you have the interest of the company at heart.
